“He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump.
He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people!” Psalm 113:7-8

In life and destiny, there are three possible levels of accomplishment: below, at the same level as, or above one’s colleagues. When one excels in one’s field or profession, they are likely to be recognised, sought after, and highly respected. It is no wonder that an elevated status is highly desirable and has long been a dream of many. People work hard and strive for promotion, knowing that it can be earned through diligence and hard work. However, surprisingly, many discover that:

“In this world fast runners do not always win the races, and the brave do not always win the battles. The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always get rich, and capable people do not always rise to high positions. Eccl. 9:11 [Good news]

The harsh reality is that we must exert effort to achieve success, but relying solely on our own efforts may not be sufficient to be all that God wants us to be. If your current state is solely the result of your own efforts, you may have overlooked an essential element of the elevation equation.

“For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south: But God is the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another.” Psalm 75:6-7

In our lifting, there is a divine element – a reward beyond our labour–an orchestrated favour and angelic-engineered assistance that propels us to greater heights. This divine intervention may commence as a process, but often, the final stretch is achieved suddenly (as exemplified by Joseph, David, Elisha, and Daniel). Truly, a person does not experience an authentic elevation until they receive this divine boost. Oh, how sweet the recollection it evokes.

Thankfully, as a bona fide child of God, we are entitled to receive divine contributions. However, we must consciously ask for this in all our endeavours. We do not need to assume that it will automatically come but ask for the Lord’s help. It is time to lift your burdens and seek His help. You have struggled enough on your own. Why don’t you ask for His help now?
