“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the dump:
to seat them with nobles, with the princes of His people”. Psalm 113:7-8

One of the outstanding attributes of God is His wonder-working power, which can turn around a situation, bring laughter to the sobbing eyes, and revitalise lost hope. Although our experiences may somewhat differ in life, and some may be “luckier” than others, everyone seems to have a fair share during our sojourn here on earth of a nagging issue/problem that demands solution. Just like the woman with the issue of blood (Matthew 9:20–22, Mark 5:25–34), in the bid to solve the lingering problem, some have lost earnings, happiness, marriage or even their lives!

When a problem is persistent, a breakthrough is required, that is, a sudden, dramatic, instantaneous turnaround. The good news is that the Lord can provide the breakthrough, if we will trust Him. It is essential to connect to the source of our liberty with the currency of ‘Faith’ – an unflinching reliance that the Lord will come through for us. Undoubtedly, hope differs between heart-sick (Prov. 13:12). However, just like David, we must encourage ourselves in the Lord (1st Sam. 30:6). Our real help comes only from Him (Psalm 121). With the instrumentality of prayer and fasting, spiced with praise we can ‘wait’ on Him until our change comes (Job 14:14).

The timing of His intervention is always beautiful (Eccl. 3:11), the critical sacrifice on our part is to ‘wait’ and, surely the breakthrough will come. Suddenly, the captivity is turned around and we are escaped. The sweet experience is that the age-long problem collapses like a pack of cards, just like a dream, and it is evident for all to see. (Psalm 126).  God has not forgotten you; your breakthrough is on its way – wait upon Him, help is coming!
